Here are the Minutes of the
71 MHS reunion commtte meetings and Zoom Meetings

REUNION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES, JULY 14TH, 2021

Meeting was held in-person 2:10 TO 3:15 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Muskego.

PRESENT:  Jeff, Bill, Gary, Leah, Suz, Adele, Jane, Mike O., Mike W., Lenny, and Beth

Suz chaired.

RUNDOWN OF EVENTS:

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1Oth:

Friday night at Matty's - 4 to 7 P.M. Bill and band partner will play starting around 4:30.  We will pay Bill's partner $125.00, Bill doesn't want to be paid.  We will supply appetizers, but not the entire $600 budgeted for this.  It will be a cash bar to eliminate any liability for committee members.  It was thought we could expect about 35 to 40 alums at Matty's.

MHS football game is happening at 7 P.M.  Seating may be limited, but there will be an area set aside for us.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th:

10:00 A.M. golf outing, so far no one has contacted Lenny to do this.

Committee members can gather at the Moose on Saturday morning to decorate.

MHS school tour scheduled for 3 P.M.  This is TBA on website after Leah talks to Alyssa from MHS.

Moose Lodge opens at 4 P.M. for guests.  Outdoor games will be available.  There will be one bartender outside, one inside.  Mike Osenga will give a brief welcome, recognize veterans among class.  Dinner at 6 P.M.  Both Matty's and Moose will say "Cocktails and conversation at 4 P.M."  on website.

We will have no written program, but  committee members will man the welcome/nametag table and circulate throughout night to make sure all present are engaged.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th:

Committee members will meet at 10 A. M. at the Moose to remove banners, etc.  Afterwards, we will go to Brian Borkowski's house to wrap things up.

ACTIONS REQUIRED:

Leah and Mike O. will meet to make post cards happen, after which Mike will email Beth to get the next meeting date out.
Leah will call Alyssa from MHS regarding the football game and whether we need to pre-order tickets as well as school tour info so these can be put on the website.
Jeff will put info about the golf outing on the website again.
Mike O. and Jeff will set something up on the website for classmates to fill in their bios.  People will also be able to fill these in after the reunion.
Mike O. will create a PDF for last minute emails encouraging  buying tickets.
We will have a book for guests to sign, but no one has stepped forward to purchase this.
I believe Leah(?) will talk to Alyssa also about borrowing trophies and plaques from school for our nostalgia table.

GENERAL STUFF:

We currently have 65 paid tickets, with another 5 wanting to pay by check.
Possible Covid cancellation will be on website.
The caterers need a final count by August 30th.  We are requesting tickets be bought for $50 by August 25th.  Any tickets sold after that will cost $60.  Jeff says caterers allow about 10% extra food so we can accommodate latecomers.
Bonnie (Koch) Herman already has several nametags made.
Our memorial table will be set up in the corner with flowers and an LED candle.  People wishing to see a photo of the deceased will have to turn the page for each one.
Our nostalgia table will be set up in another corner and will contain items such as a MHS jacket, Warriors' Words newspapers, trophies and plaques, and anything else anybody cares to contribute.
Suz has address labels.
Jeff has renewed our website for another year. This was less expensive than going by the month.

This is all I have, folks.
Beth

’71 The Reunion Meeting Minutes
24 March 2021

PRESENT:  Gary Vilwock, Jeff Smith, Lenny Young, Harley Borneman, Suz (Lardinois) Perkins, Mike Weber, new member Mike Osenga, and Beth (Mimier) Kutka

SEARCH COMMITTEE REMARKS:  Suz mailed out 230 "Save the Date" postcards (designed by Renee Couture) on March 9th, and after two weeks, has only had four of them returned as undeliverable.  The three month reminder will happen electronically.  Suz also brought up that we will need simple paper nametags for Matty's on Friday.

COMMUNICATION COMMITTEE REPORT:  Jeff stated we have 22 ticket holders signed up and $1,350.00 has been donated.  Barb (Volz) Clark has volunteered to write an article about the reunion for local newspapers.  Lenny mentioned the possibility of placing 9x11 notices in local businesses' windows.  Mike W. has been posting lots of pictures from our school days as well as current photos, but will still need about 150 more if he is to continue posting one each day between now and the reunion.  He appreciates getting pictures from a variety of sources for this purpose.

LOCATION/CATERING COMMITTEE:  Mike W. spoke of his visit to the Moose Lodge, taking many measurements and photos of the interior so that we can determine how and where to place the things we need.  It was mentioned that the website will cut off ticket purchasing three weeks ahead of the September 11th dinner date to facilitate the caterers.  Lenny stated the Moose Lodge has approved of our preferred caterer, saving us 18%, or between $500 and $600.  It was thought this money could go to buy pitchers of beer Friday night at Matty's.  At our last meeting, we expected to not go with a buffet, due to Covid concerns, but Lenny has since learned that is not the case.  Moose will provide a buffet with Plexiglas and their own servers dishing up the food for us.  The evening at Moose officially begins at 5 P.M., but Gary said they do have horseshoe pits, beanbag toss, and other activities to do for those arriving early.  Jeff effectively got rid of the "dress code" by reminding us that by our age, people shouldn't need to be told how to dress.  The Moose is handicapped compliant and has a wheelchair ramp.  Our response card will have a place where attendees can indicate whether they will need any special accommodations.  People will pick up name plates at the door to place at the table of their choice (first come, first served with this) so they have a spot to return to after moving around the room talking to others.  Regarding a keepsake, the previously mentioned kitchen magnet as well as the coffee mug idea was both liked, but pricing will have to happen so that we stay within budget.  It was also thought possibly the keepsake could be an engraved wine glass costing about $4 or $5 each.  Jeff has a contact that can help with the keepsake, and this person will need about three week’s lead-time.

BUDGET COMMITTEE:  Brian stated that we have a little over $600.00 in our account after reimbursing Suz the cost of post card mailings. We did not talk about recognizing benefactors.

ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE:  Regarding the school tour, Harley will call the alumni office for a tour possibly on Saturday.   The golf outing is all set for 9 holes at Brookfield Hills.  Lenny has signed a contract with them, and tee-off time is 10 A.M. on Saturday.  Those wishing to golf should note this on their response card.  Lenny thought golfers could play "best ball" out of groups of four.  The cost will be rounded up to $25 so that small prizes could be purchased and awarded (for made-up categories) on Saturday.  This amount includes carts.  Brookfield Hills says they typically have only about 20 golfers show up for events like this, and they will need the total of golfers by September 1st.  There is a home football game scheduled for Friday night, but no time has been given yet for it.  It was thought that the class of '71 should be mentioned during halftime.  Regarding having a live band, it was again brought up that people come to talk and catch up on the past 50 years, not to be overwhelmed by loud music.  Instead, we will have 60's and 70's background music playing Saturday night, with Bill Apmann's band playing at Matty's on Friday, as planned.

DECORATIONS COMMITTEE:  Sue Stahl was not at our meeting, but it was stated that we do know table sizes and shapes for the purchasing of tablecloths.  Also, Sue had told us she has the large banner cut out, but not yet pieced together.

NOSTALGIA COMMITTEE:  Brian has several items for a nostalgia table.  It was thought we'd want a letterman's jacket, a Warrior sweater, etc.  It was mentioned that Phil Dibb and Jim Dutkiewicz (had to look that one up) may be sending items to Mike W. for this as well.  Mike O. and Lenny will take care of creating a booklet with graduates' bios after either Mike W. or Suz get him a copy of the form used by the class of '69.  These forms can then be downloaded from Facebook and our website for people to fill out, and then return.

Concerning memorializing deceased students, we again agreed not to have a slideshow because this could be too upsetting.  Instead, a binder with pictures was mentioned; however, at a past meeting, we had opted for displaying photos on partitions, like at funerals.  Juanita had spoken to memorials, but she was not at today's meeting.

Additionally, we agreed we want to have a brief welcome/generic benediction/recognition of committee members as means of introduction before dinner.  Since Jeff Renner hasn't answered whether he would be willing to do this, Mike O. has been drafted.  Mike W. has requested that we stay in touch via email, and we will probably have our next meeting sometime in mid-May.

Respectfully submitted,
Beth (Mimier) Kutka

MHS REUNION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, Jan. 27th, 2021

PRESENT:  Lenny Young, Harly Borneman, Jeff Smith, Suz (Lardinois) Perkins, Sue (Stahl) Adams, Barb (Volz) Clark, Leah Robertson, Bill Apmann, Juanita (Ernest) Rosenbaum, Mike Weber, and Beth (Mimier) Kutka

Meeting started via Zoom at 10:11 a.m.

SEARCH COMMITTEE:  Suz stated we have contact info for 196 classmates, another five have chosen to not participate, and 35 are deceased,* giving us a total of 232.  It was thought that probably another 13 didn't graduate, leaving 54 still to be located.  70+ of us are on Facebook.

*  Sadly, we learned after this meeting of the passing of Mike Stoecker, bringing the number of deceased to 35.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE:  Jeff stated that the website is progressing and he will continue to post the meeting minutes.  He will update sections to include memorials and accounting.  “Save the Date” postcards are to go out sometime in March.  Jeff will help Suz get labels for these using Excel. Suz will send Harley the text for cards.

LOCATION/CATERING:  Icebreaker scheduled for Friday, September 10, 2021 is still to be held at Matty's in Muskego.  We have reserved the back room and outdoor area with tent for $200.00.  Harley recommends we provide something non-alcoholic if we're financially able to provide anything.  Jeff thought maybe just pitchers of beer could be supplied.

Saturday dinner:  Lenny has the contract with the Moose Lodge but we have not yet made a down payment to reserve it for the evening of Saturday, September 11th, 2021.  It was thought, from Harley's research of reunions, that we can expect roughly about 120 people to attend.  Dinner attendees will be given a choice of beef tips, chicken, or one other meat dish; mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, rolls, and sheet cake for the price of $23.20/plate.  This includes an 18% gratutity, as they will have to bring in four additional servers.  We can't have a buffet due to COVID concerns, but Lenny will inquire if Carl's can be approved as our caterer, thereby eliminating this tip.  Leah brought up and Lenny will ask Moose about providing a vegetarian option.  People can inform us on response card regarding their vegetarian preference and Jeff will tweak the website to include this option.  As far as decorating prior to the dinner, Lenny will ask if we can have access either early Friday afternoon or about noon on Saturday. This will have to be coordinated with possible school tour.  Jane was not at our meeting to talk about this, as she had been working on this.  Harley thanked Lenny for all his continued hard work with Moose Lodge.

BUDGET COMMITTEE:  Brian was not at this meeting, but Jeff said that $460 was transferred from My Event to our account last week, and that we have the option of a transfer each time another $500 comes in for tickets.  This way Brian can have a steady flow of cash to supply us as costs arise.  Suz thought it may be a good idea to set up two price tiers – one for early payment, one to join later.  This should help get people signed up.

ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE:  Bill and his band partner are looking forward to playing at Matty's on Friday evening.  Bill will play for free, but we will need to pay his band partner something.  For those who will want to golf, it will be nine holes and include the use of carts.  Lenny will arrange this with Brookfield Hills for a mid-morning time.  Those interested in golfing may indicate this on the response card.  Moose Lodge charges $25 for set-up of their sound system, and we all agreed this is reasonable.  We will need to get a play list together.

DECORATIONS COMMITTEE:  Sue is waiting on the number of people, the number that will be seated at each table, and the shape of tables in order to purchase table coverings and to know how many centerpieces to make.  Juanita thought she, Barb, and Sue could pick up table coverings at a dollar store, probably in white and red.  Barb will try to contact earlier decorations committee members Diane Washa and Adele Differt.  Suz, Leah, and Beth said we'd be happy to help with the actual making of decorations when the time comes.  Sue has a 12 foot long banner in mind, but will need help with it.  It will have letters approximately six inches tall and shadowed in black.  The banner will read:  “Mushego High School '71 Reunited”

MEMORIALS/NOSTALGIA COMMITTEE:  After discussion about using wall space for photos, Barb and Lenny both mentioned they have 3-panel room dividers that we could use instead. Juanita and Mike can make a memorial board to remember the deceased.  Jeff suggested having a continual loop of pictures of the entire class.  There will be music with this, but this would not run during the dinner itself.  Mike stated that Bonnie (Koch) Herman has all his pictures.  (She will use them to make the name tags.)  Mike and Lenny will get together to create the slide show after getting their Covid shots.

OTHER DISCUSSION, MISCELLANEOUS:  Jeff thought the slide show could be shown virtually during reunion to anyone not able to attend in person, and Barb thought it could even be pre-recorded for those unable to watch it in real time.  It was thought that no faculty would be able to attend, although mention was made of Mr. Jacobi (choir director).  As far as giving the school a class gift, we agreed there seems to be no money for it.  Since the Sunday picnic is off the table, Bill got some money back after having made the reservation at Muskego County Park.  He received $135 of the $160 he paid, leaving him out $25, which he isn't concerned about.

Our next meeting will be sometime in March, with the  date to be determined and coordinated with mailing of Save the Date cards.

Zoom session # 2 ended at 11:20.

Respectfully submitted,
Beth Kutka

MHS REUNION COMMITTEE
ZOOM MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 18TH, 2020

PRESENT:  Lenny Young, Suz Lardinois Perkins, Mike Weber, Leah Robertson, Brian Borkowski, Harley Borneman, Jeff Smith, Jane Knoll, Bill Apmann, Beth Mimier Kutka

We made a few important decisions today.  First off, we have decided to forgo the June dates of the 4th, 5th, and 6th, in favor of a weekend in September, thinking that COVID vaccinations will be more likely to be completed by this later date.  Lenny will check for availability at Matty's and at the Moose Lodge regarding September 10th and 11th and September 17th and 18th .  The other important decision of the day is that we will forgo the Sunday picnic because it was thought that it would be poorly attended, just mostly as a way for us (the committee) to tie up loose ends.  Brian has graciously offered to host us at his house for Sunday's informal meeting instead.

Here are some details pertaining to Friday's icebreaker at Matty's:  People will need to pay for their own drinks and food, as none will be supplied.  Spouses will not be coming to this.  Icebreaker starts at 4 p.m., which would allow time for anyone who so desires to attend the MHS football game at 7 p.m., providing there is a “home” game that evening.  Lenny will contact the MHS athletic department, but it was thought that they won't have a game schedule for next year until possibly the end of this school year.  Lenny has a receipt for Matty's, and has informed us that basically anything goes regarding possible cancellation due to COVID.

Here are some details pertaining to Saturday's dinner at the Moose Lodge:  We would be allowed to cancel up to 15 days prior to scheduled date.  The golf outing for those interested was discussed.  Lenny said the course won't open for people to only play 9 holes, but that there is a place down the street that would host us.  It is an 18 hole course, but many of the holes are par 3, so the entire course should take only about three hours.  Mike asked what we can expect for turnout, and Harley said according to his research, about 20 to 25% turnout is all we can expect.

Here are some details pertaining to Sunday's canceled picnic:   Bill will call Muskego Co. Park to get a refund.  His band will play at Friday's icebreaker instead of the picnic, as originally planned.  Bill will play for free, but requests that we pay his partner.

MISCELLANEOUS:  Jeff said our website is up and running and asks that several of us purchase tickets so that we have some money in the account.  Brian stated we have $299.00 in the account.
“Save the Date”cards will go out probably in March.
Suz said now that Mike put the graduation roster containing middle initials on Facebook, perhaps that will make finding some of the people still not contacted easier.
We talked about possibly having another meeting in January, but no date was set.

                                                                        Respectfully submitted,
                                                                        Beth Kutka

MHS REUNION COMMITTEE
ZOOM MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2020

Meeting started roughly 10:20 after we had technical difficulties getting everyone into Zoom.

PRESENT:  Harley Borneman, Jeff Smith, Suz Lardinois Perkins, Mike Weber, Barb Volz Clark, Gary Vilwock, Bill Apmann, and Beth Mimier Kutka

The main thrust of this meeting was simply to discuss the possibility of changing dates of activities due to Covid19.  It was expressed by some of us that we are discouraged by the length of time it is taking to get the virus under control.  Harley said it best, saying we want a reunion, but we want it to be safe.

Suz said Renee Couture has designed our “save the dates” postcard and Jeff said Vista Print gets the product back to you within a week's time.  We would like to send these out in January, with the alternate dates listed as well as the first choice of June 4,5, 6.  Regarding the alternate dates, the September weekend of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th as well as the 10th, 11th, and 12th were mentioned, but the former is Labor Day weekend and the latter is the weekend of the 1970 class reunion, so that we will have to discuss these dates further at our next meeting.  We all agreed that October would be the latest we'd want it to be scheduled in 2021.

As far as contracts with places, Matty's and the Moose Lodge have escape clauses whereby we would have 21 days to cancel. Bill said Muskego County Park allows one change at $33, but then any more changes require canceling and starting over with the reservation, but Harley feels they will work with us.  If we do end up canceling, we will do so in December.

Number of unfound classmates stands at 60 at this time.

Regarding the Saturday night dinner, Carl's was found the most reasonable and they should supply all contact info to the Moose in order to be added as a preferred caterer.

Regarding the Sunday picnic, Bill said a permit is required to bring food trucks onto property and he can start that process.  Harley thinks the picnic will not be well attended, and Jeff said it will most likely be just the committee there to wrap things up and any other guests would be a plus.

It was thought that if we have any money remaining when all is said and done, we could donate it to, probably, the MHS Booster Club and the Moose Lodge.

We adjourned at 11:15 when our Zoom session ended.  Next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 18th at 10 A.M. on Zoom.  We need to be prepared to discuss option two at that meeting.

Respectfully submitted,
Beth Kutka

MHS '71 REUNION MEETING MINUTES
JULY 29TH, 2020
Zoom

PRESENT:  Jane Knoll, Suz Lardinois, Sue Stahl, Lynn and Kip Buelo, BarbVolz, Jeff Smith, Juanita Ernest, Lenny Young, Bill Apmann, Brian Borkowski, and Beth Mimier

LOCATION CONSIDERATIONS:  Friday night's meet and greet will be held at Matty's in Muskego.  They will set up an outdoor tent for us.  Saturday night dinner will be at the Moose Lodge.  Jane said the Moose Lodge has arrangements with their own caterers; if we went with our own, there would be a 15% fee added.   Lenny proposed “All Occasions Catering Bubbs BBQ” in Mukwonago as the caterer for Saturday night.  Discussion centered on choices for people on diets, or with special dietary needs, or vegetarians.  The conclusion reached was offering a combination of BBQ and smoked jailhouse chicken.  Upon sign-up, people will indicate if they have any special dietary needs.  Jeff said that from past experience, separate plates could be ordered, from another caterer if necessary, for the 5 or 6 or however many other meals might be needed.  Lenny will call and ask if price of $16 to $20 per plate includes one drink.  He will also inquire about beer and soda prices and whether or not wine is available.  We will pay $240 for a half barrel of beer.  Lenny will inquire regarding which types they have.  The Moose Lodge has been paid for hall rental, $480, and Lenny has the contract which includes a bartender, music set up, and video system. There is WiFi for streaming, and Jeff and Lenny will set up Spotify or Pandora.  Lenny said they have an excellent sound system.  The Moose Lodge has comfortable dinner seating for 150 indoors and 180 if outside.   They have a recessed dance floor, and their tables are rectangular.  Sue offered to obtain the necessary tablecloths.  Colors will be red and either white or black.  If you have a preference, please let Sue know. Lenny plans on contributing $200 for pizzas to be delivered as a late night snack at the Moose Lodge  (approximately 10 or 10:30 p.m.)  Juanita volunteered to also chip in for pizzas.  Harley asked whether the Moose Lodge has any restrictions on displays or placing items on the walls (for memorabilia).  Harley has the original classmates' bios from the 20 year reunion as well as play and concert programs. Lenny will find out more about displays and Juanita will ask specifically about attaching pictures with non-adhesive tape.  Sue will use the warrior from the front cover of the '71 Chant on the banner.  It is a respectful picture and it was decided that this same warrior should be used on the name tags as well.  Suz asked about whether an agenda of some sort was needed for the group at the dinner individually at the tables.  Harley is thinking about a booklet as a keepsake with outline of events and other information.

SEARCH COMMITTEE:  Suz gave the update that we currently have 189 located and 65 not found.  28 are deceased, giving us a total of 282.  She was able to secure another 15+ from our Facebook page.  Additionally, there will be a “help find” tab on our website for students and teachers.

BUDGET:  Brian stated that we now have $500.

MEMORIALS:  It was decided that instead of the previously discussed vases containing rolled up photos of the 28 deceased, we will have their pictures on a board.  This will allow for less crowding and ease of viewing photos. Juanita stated that on 26 of the 28 deceased we have info such as date of birth, date of death, and for some, an obituary.  There will be a tab on the web page (accessible at www.71mhsreunion.com) where people can post tributes if they wish. We will have a disclaimer to say that we hope the information we have on the deceased is accurate.  There was discussion of identifying a list of remaining teachers to invite, and  Jeff has  included obituaries on our Facebook page of those he was able to find.

Lynn has graciously offered to play a piano tribute of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen during a Power Point presentation of pictures of the deceased.  We're hoping Mike will do the power point presentation.  Barb suggested we then post this power point memorial on our website for people to watch again from home, and we all thought this is a good idea.  Lynn is hoping to find a violinist or flutist to accompany her, possibly from the current MHS band or orchestra.  Lynn will bring her own keyboard and Lenny will find out if this will work at the Moose Lodge.  We need to find an emcee to introduce the short memorial program as well as to read the names.  It was hoped that Jeff Renner, with his official TV meteorologist's voice, will agree to this task; otherwise we're hoping Harley, Jeff, and Mike may co-emcee.  Juanita suggested we light one single candle for this entire group of former classmates. In regard to projection needs for this, Lenny has and will provide.

NAME TAGS:  Beth stated that Bonnie Koch will make our name tags on lanyards for about $1.00 apiece.  They will contain first name, maiden name, and then married name in smaller print.  This information will be obtained  from the “Buy Tickets” tab on the Myevent website.  Nametags will contain the Indian logo from the '71 Chant, as well as “MHS '71 Reunited.”  Harley asked opinions on how spouses' name tags should read.  No decision was reached, but several suggestions were offered, such as “I belong to.....” “My better half is.....”

SAVE THE DATE CARDS:  Sue reported that Renee Couture will design the cards, which will list times and dates for all three events, and they will be mailed out at the start of January, 2021.  Cost is $43 per 250 from Vista Print.

SUNDAY'S PICNIC:  Bill inquired about food for the picnic on Sunday, specifically as to whether people will bring their own.  Sue stated that Leah was looking into food trucks as a possibility; however, Leah wasn't at today's meeting to give us this update.  Jane added that we should get an idea of the number of people attending when they sign up and whether it was enough to interest a food truck or two.  Harley said that the out-of-towners will be at a disadvantage in bringing their own food.  He noted that typically the Sunday picnic event is less attended as people have had enough socializing by then or they are flying or driving home on Sunday.

COMMUNICATIONS:  Jeff reports we have over 70 people now on our Facebook page and that the website is being looked at.  Jeff would like someone to write up details of all three days' activities to be put on website.  He further asked that writing for the website be done in Word, as that is the easiest format for him to post it on Myevent.  Jeff can put a hyperlink to Chant photos and Warrior's Word newspaper articles.  We agreed we would like to have bios on the website.  Jeff thought it would be helpful for committee members to sign in and populate the website.  Here are the tabs on the website:

RSVP tab to simply gather respondents.
            Who's Coming tab
Help Find tab (could also ask for any known teachers here.)
Contact Us tab  Jeff, Sue, and Brian agreed to have their email addresses used for this.
Guest Book tab  to sign in (Juanita also has guest book from 20 year reunion!)
Photo Album tab  We agreed to put current photos here.  Jeff will find out if Mike can transfer        photos from Facebook to our web site.

We will have a page on which tickets may be purchased, a page to make donations, and a quiz page.  Barb has already looked up quiz questions and will continue with this.

It was mentioned that we will need an “owner” for each tab – someone to be responsible for their tab, but  mostly tabs have not yet been claimed.

ACCOMODATIONS:  Jane spoke with three hotels, one of which was Embassy Suites, which is quite expensive.  She didn't have her materials on the others, but did tell us that in order to have a reunion preferred hotel and receive better rates, we would have to provide the number who have committed to staying there.  Once again, Juanita simplified things for us by suggesting we simply list area hotels from various price ranges and let people make their own decisions.

MISCELLANEOUS:  Regarding the possible tour of the high school, Jane said they want a head count for this.  We do not know which day this will be, but Jane's first choice is Saturday, second choice Friday. We will also need a head count for golfing, and Harley strongly recommends the golfing be held to 9 holes, as 18 would end too close to dinner time.

After setting up the next Zoom meeting for Wednesday, September 23rd at 10:00, the meeting adjourned at 12:12.

Respectfully submitted,
Beth (Mimier) Kutka

ADDENDUM # 1:  Leah has told me since the meeting that she called food trucks for Sunday, but found not much is going on with those due to Covid19.  Only Matty's has called her back and here are their stipulations:

We can select a menu (anything or combo of sliders, tacos, BBQ, Asian bowls, with sides of:  mac n cheese, fried curds, chips, etc.  They can also include soda, water, and dessert.)  We can pick and choose what we want.

Pay $500 to hold a reservation with a credit card. If they make or exceed $500, we get anything over that amount back.  If it would happen to be less, we would cover the difference to meet their $500 needs.

Leah did research some other places, but prefers Matty's best and since they're local and we're doing Friday night with them, would like to start and finish with Matty's.

ADDENDUM # 2:  I am volunteering to write up brief descriptions of each day's events for the website.

Class of ’71 Reunion Committee
Meeting Minutes
May 15th, 2019
Bushy’s in Muskego

PRESENT:  Barb Volz, Leah Robertson, Diane Washa, Brian Borkowski, Gary Villwock, Bill Apmann, Harland Borneman, Jeff Smith, Paul Differt, Pam Rosecky, Larry Jones, Lenny Young, Jane Knoll, Sue Lardinois, Lloyd Pickart, Adele Differt, Beth Mimier

COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS:
Co-chairs:  Harley and Lenny
Secretary:  Beth (Leah will be co-secretary if needed)
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE (WEBSITE):  Jeff
SEARCH COMMITTEE:  Sue (chair), co-chairs:  Leah, Gary, Pam, Jane
ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE:  Bill (chair), co-chair Diane
DECORATIONS COMMITTEE:  Sue Stahl (chair, not present), co-chairs:  Barb, Diane, Adele
WELCOME COMMITTEE:  No one at this time
NOSTALGIA MEMORABILIA COMMITTEE:  No one at this time
EVENT LOCATION:  Jane
BUDGET COMMITTEE:  Brian and Harley
DISCUSSION ITEMS:  # 1 priority is to select venue.  Since we all agreed we would like to keep it local (i.e., right in Muskego), Jane will be calling Bushy’s, Bass Bay Brew House (the old Aud Mar), and Suburban Bourbon.  We are looking to hold the reunion on June 4, 5, 6, 2021.
We decided against doing any fundraising, but it was thought that perhaps some class members who have been quite successful in business would like to help out by sponsoring.
Harley gave several suggestions/thoughts for a theme.  We felt a theme would bring a sense of community for the reunion.   Sue suggested we all give it some thought before choosing one.
We could have a separate table with chairs leaned in to denote and honor deceased classmates, perhaps with their names and photos, perhaps not.

The Search committee will divide up names to be sought out among all the rest of us.  It was mentioned that when we contact people, we ask them who they may be in touch with.  This info could then be shared on our data base.
A reunion web site will be set up for one common place to communicate and possibly pay for the reunion.  We discussed using PayPal or other electronic payment method.  Early commitments could receive a slight price break.
Diane will book Muskego County Park, area 4 for Sunday, June 6th.
A bank account needs to be set up for seed money.
There was some discussion as to whether or not we want music.  It was brought up that people would prefer to talk, but a compromise could be struck with the music starting 2 hours or so after dinner.
Next meeting:  Wednesday, October 23rd, 1:00 p.m., at Bushy’s
That’s all I have, folks.  I hope this is accurate.  If not, or if I forgot something important, please let me know so I can make needed corrections/additions.

                                                                                          Respectfully submitted,
                                                                                          Beth
